Another Former Islander Joins the Caps

The second former Islander in a matter of hours has signed with Washington. Forward Viktor Kozlov, who stands 6'5" and weighs 235 pounds, has come to terms on a two year $5 million contract. The 32 year old russian is coming off a season in which he notched 25 goals and 26 assists.

Here is the scouting report from sportsnet.ca:

Assets - Has great vision on the ice, imposing size and impressive imagination. Loves to handle the puck and does so with skill and finesse. Is very good when he lines up on either wing.

Flaws - Must improve his ability to score goals in order to keep defenders honest. Is still looking for a level of consistency in the NHL. Does not look good when playing the pivot.

Hopefully the plan is to play him on the wing and we are still looking for a center for the 1st line.
