Trailing 1-0 heading into the 3rd period, the Stingrays we able to rally and tie the game just five minutes in on a goal by center Brendan Bernakevitch. He deflected a Matt Stephanishion shot past goaltender Dave McKee for his 14th of the season, sending the game into the extra frame. The Lynx took advantage of an Evan Schwabe high-sticking double minor to tally the game winning goal by Louis Goulet, his 21st of the season.

The point received for the overtime loss was enough to move the Stingrays into sole possession of fifth place in the South Division, four points behind the fourth place Lynx and eleven points behind the division leading Texas Wildcatters.

South Carolina is now off until Friday when they return home to host the Charlotte Checkers in a game the Stingrays will need to stay ahead of the Checkers in the South Division standings.
