Gametime: 7:00 PM ET

The Stingrays and Checkers head into tonight's contest currently tied for fifth place in the South Division and sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 51 points each. It will be the sixth meeting between the two teams this season with Charlotte holding the slight 3-2 edge to date.

It will be the Stingrays first game since defeating the Columbia Inferno last Saturday 4-3. Tonight will also bring an end to what can be described as a successful long road trip of six games, as they have posted a 3-2 record so far. They'll return home Saturday night to host the Dayton Bombers from the North Charleston Coliseum.

Charlotte has also been playing well as of late posting a 7-2-1 record over their last ten games. However they are coming off of a 3-1 loss to to the last place Pensacola Ice Pilots last Saturday night. They will also enter the game a little short handed as defenseman Corey Potter was recently recalled to the Checkers AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. In 43 games Potter had posted 6 goals and 13 assists with Charlotte.
